A book about the future of books and the changing role of designers.
Books smell, books shine, books change. It takes just a single letter to convert a book to an eBook, a paper to an ePaper, a magazine to an eMag – read on eReaders or iPads. Reading material becomes bits and bytes, paper become pixels, books become objects. Reading culture changes, analog and digital techniques dominate their field. The digitalization prepares new surroundings for the publishing of print media. The scene is transforming. Publishers need to rethink their exposure to new technologies. Content needs to be restructured and edited. And the designer operates in the centre of this change.
